Six taniyans — two spoken by the Lord Himself. The Rāmānuja and Godā Catuḥślokīs in full. Ten mangala shlokas by his son Varadacharya. The Thirumanjana Kattiyam sung at his sacred bath.
Six taniyans
Pilgrims climbing from Srirangam were fed by a young brahmachari who named himself Ananthalvan’s disciple and recited the first two of these. Ananthalvan had sent no one. Srinivasa had walked the path. The other four remember the crowbar, the garden, and the bee at Yatiraja’s feet.

अखिलात्मगुणावासम् अज्ञानतिमिरापहम् । आश्रितानां सुशरणं वन्देऽनन्तार्य देशिकम् ॥
Akhilātmaguṇāvāsam ajñānatimirāpaham Āśritānāṃ susaraṇaṃ vande Anantāryadeśikam
I bow to Acharya Anantharya, dwelling of every noble quality, who dispels the darkness of ignorance, the sure refuge of those who take shelter in him.

I worship Anantharya, who is equal to the two lotus feet of Sri Ramanuja, and whom the good bear upon their heads.

आम्नायवाचामपि मृग्य भूमा श्रीवेङ्कटक्ष्माधर दिव्यधाम । देवोऽनुतावन् प्रदधाति यस्मै स्रजं भजेऽनन्तगुरुं तमाद्यम् ॥
aamnaayavaachaamapi mrugya bhUmaa SriivEnkatakshmaadhara divyadhaama | dEvo 'nutaavan pradadhaati yasmai srajam bhajE 'nantagurum tamaadyam ||
I worship that first Ananta-guru, to whom the Lord of the divine abode of Venkata hill — the fullness sought even by the words of the Vedas — gives the garland.

यतीन्द्र पादाब्ज चञ्चरीकम् श्रीमद् दयापाल दयैकपात्रम् । श्रीवेङ्कटेशाङ्घ्रियुगान्तरङ्गं नमाम्यनन्तार्यमनन्तकृत्वा ॥
yatiindra paadaambuja chanchariikam Sriimad dayaapaala dayaikapaatram | SriivEnkatESaanghriyugaantarangam namaamyanantaaryamanantakrutvaa ||
I bow endlessly to Anantarya, a bee at Yatiraja’s lotus feet, the sole recipient of the grace of Dayapala, intimate with the pair of feet of Sri Venkatesa.

जायासहायकरणीय महातटाक मृत्पारवाहि वटु वेष वृषाचलेन्द्रम् । श्रीवेङ्कटेश धृत दत्त मनोज्ञगन्ध स्रक्कण्टिकण्ठरमनन्तगुरुं प्रपद्ये ॥
jaayaasahaayakaraNiiya mahaatataaka mrutpaaravaahi vatu vEsha vrushaachalEndram | SriivEnkatEsa dhruta datta manognyagandha srakkanti kantaramanantagurum prapadyE ||
I take refuge in Ananta-guru, on whose neck hangs the lovely fragrant garland worn and given by Sri Venkatesha — he who, with his wife, carried earth for the great tank, before whom the Lord of Vrishachala came in brahmachari form.

श्रीवेङ्कटेशमचिरस्मयमान निर्यात सौरभ्यकुम्भसुमनोऽपिरनन्यबुद्ध्या । आह्लादयन निजघनोपवनोदितापि श्रीमान् अनन्तगुरुरन्वहमाविरस्ताम् ॥
SriivEnkatEsamachirasmayamaana niryaat sowrabhyakumbhasumanopirananyabuddhyaa | aahlaadayan nijaghanopavanoditaapi Sriimaan ananta gururanvahamaavirastaam ||
May the blessed Ananta-guru appear every day — delighting Sri Venkatesha with undivided mind by flowers whose fragrance pours as from a jar, risen from his own dense garden.

Ever, to men who worship with single-minded devotion, you quietly bestow the desired glory at your lotus feet. Victory to you, Ramanuja, forever at Rangadhama!

భువినో విమతాంస్త్వదీయసూక్తిః కులిశీభూయ కుదృష్టిభిస్సమేతాన్ | శకలీకురుతే విపశ్చిదీడ్యా జయ రామానుజ ! శేషశైలశృంగే || 2 ||
भुवि नो विमतांस्त्वदीयसूक्तिः कुलिशीभूय कुदृष्टिभिः समेतान् । शकलीकुरुते विपश्चिदीड्या जय रामानुज ! शेषशैलशृङ्गे ॥ २ ॥
bhuvi no vimatāṃs tvadīyasūktiḥ kuliśībhūya kudṛṣṭibhiḥ sametān | śakalīkurute vipaścidīḍyā jaya rāmānuja! śeṣaśailaśṛṅge || 2 ||
On earth your utterances, becoming the thunderbolt, shatter those of opposing views together with those of false vision. O one praised by the wise, victory to you, Ramanuja, on the peak of Seshasaila!
2 · Tirumala
శ్రుతిషు స్మృతిషు ప్రమాణతత్త్వం కృపయాలోక్య విశుద్ధయా హి బుద్ధ్యా | అకృథాస్స్వత ఏవ భాష్యరత్నం జయ రామానుజ ! హస్తిధామ్ని నిత్యం || 3 ||
श्रुतिषु स्मृतिषु प्रमाणतत्त्वं कृपयाऽऽलोक्य विशुद्धया हि बुद्ध्या । अकृथाः स्वत एव भाष्यरत्नं जय रामानुज ! हस्तिधाम्नि नित्यम् ॥ ३ ॥
śrutiṣu smṛtiṣu pramāṇatattvaṃ kṛpayālokya viśuddhayā hi buddhyā | akṛthāḥ svata eva bhāṣyaratnaṃ jaya rāmānuja! hastidhāmni nityam || 3 ||
Having looked with a purified intellect, through grace, upon the truth of pramana in the Srutis and Smritis, you yourself composed this jewel of a Bhashya. Victory to you, Ramanuja, forever at Hastidhama!
3 · Kanchi
జయ మాయిమతాంధకారభానో ! జయ బాహ్యప్రముఖాటవీకృశానో ! జయ సంశ్రితసింధుశీతభానో ! జయ రామానుజ ! యాదవాద్రిశృంగే || 4 ||
जय मायिमतान्धकारभानो ! जय बाह्यप्रमुखाटवीकृशानो ! जय संश्रितसिन्धुशीतभानो ! जय रामानुज ! यादवाद्रिशृङ्गे ॥ ४ ॥
jaya māyimatāndhakārabhānō! jaya bāhyapramukhāṭavīkṛśānō! jaya saṃśritasindhuśītabhānō! jaya rāmānuja! yādavādriśṛṅge || 4 ||
Victory, O sun to the darkness of Mayavada! Victory, O fire to the forest of the outer paths! Victory, O cooling moon to the ocean of those who have taken refuge! Victory to you, Ramanuja, on the peak of Yadavadri!
4 · Melkote
రామానుజచతుఃశ్లోకీం యః పఠేన్నియతః సదా | ప్రాప్నుయాత్ పరమాం భక్తిం యతిరాజపదాబ్జయోః || 5 ||
रामानुजचतुःश्लोकीं यः पठेन्नियतः सदा । प्राप्नुयात् परमां भक्तिं यतिराजपदाब्जयोः ॥ ५ ॥
rāmānujacatuḥślokīṃ yaḥ paṭhen niyataḥ sadā | prāpnuyāt paramāṃ bhaktiṃ yatirājapadābjayoḥ || 5 ||
Whoever recites the Ramanuja Catushloki constantly, always, shall obtain the highest bhakti at the lotus feet of Yatiraja.

नित्या भूषा निगमशिरसां निस्समोत्तुङ्गवार्ता कान्तो यस्याः कचविलुलितैः कामुको माल्यरत्नैः । सूक्त्या यस्याः श्रुतिसुभगया सुप्रभाता धरित्री सैषा देवी सकल जननी सिञ्चतां मामपाङ्गैः ॥ १ ॥
nityā bhūṣā nigamaśirasāṃ nissamottuṅgavārtā kānto yasyāḥ kacavilulitaiḥ kāmuko mālyaratnaiḥ | sūktyā yasyāḥ śrutisubhagayā suprabhātā dharitrī saiṣā devī sakala jananī siñcatāṃ māmapāṅgaiḥ || 1 ||
She is the eternal ornament of the Vedas' crown, whose exalted fame is matchless; her beloved is bound by the jewel-garlands that have played in her hair; the earth is made beautiful at dawn by her utterances that delight even the Sruti. May that Goddess, mother of all, sprinkle me with her sidelong glances.

If Tulasi is your mother, and great Sri Vishnucitta your father; if Yatishekhara is your brother, and if Sri Rangadhama is your dearest; if those who know you have been nourished by the milk of your own words — O Goda Devi, how could you be easy for others, a common Sri?

కల్పాదౌ హరిణా స్వయం జనహితం దృష్ట్వైవ సర్వాత్మనాం ప్రోక్తం స్వస్య చ కీర్తనం ప్రపదనం స్వస్మై ప్రసూనార్పణం | సర్వేషాం ప్రకటం విధాతుమనిశం శ్రీధన్వినవ్యే పురే జాతాం వైదికవిష్ణుచిత్తతనయాం గోదాముదారాం స్తుమః || 3 ||
कल्पादौ हरिणा स्वयं जनहितं दृष्ट्वैव सर्वात्मनां प्रोक्तं स्वस्य च कीर्तनं प्रपदनं स्वस्मै प्रसूनार्पणम् । सर्वेषां प्रकटं विधातुमनिशं श्रीधन्विनव्ये पुरे जातां वैदिकविष्णुचित्ततनयां गोदामुदारां स्तुमः ॥ ३ ॥
kalpādau hariṇā svayaṃ janahitaṃ dṛṣṭvaiva sarvātmanāṃ proktaṃ svasya ca kīrtanaṃ prapadanaṃ svasmai prasūnārpaṇam | sarveṣāṃ prakaṭaṃ vidhātum aniśaṃ śrīdhanvinavye pure jātāṃ vaidikaviṣṇucittatanayāṃ godām udārāṃ stumaḥ || 3 ||
At the beginning of the kalpa, Hari himself, having seen what is good for all souls, taught His own glory, surrender, and the offering of flowers to Himself. To make this manifest for all, always, in the town of Srivilliputtur, we praise the generous Goda, daughter of the Vaidika Vishnucitta.

ఆకూతస్య పరిష్క్రియామనుపమామాసేచనం చక్షుషోః ఆనందస్య పరంపరామనుగుణామారామశైలేశితుః | తద్దోర్మధ్య కిరీటకోటిఘటిత స్వోచ్ఛిష్ట కస్తూరికా మాల్యామోదసమేధితాత్మవిభవాం గోదాముదారాం స్తుమః || 4 ||
आकूतस्य परिष्क्रियामनुपमामासेचनं चक्षुषोः आनन्दस्य परम्परामनुगुणामारामशैलेशितुः । तद्दर्मध्य किरीटकोटिघटित स्वोच्छिष्ट कस्तूरिका माल्यामोदसमेधितात्मविभवां गोदामुदारां स्तुमः ॥ ४ ॥
ākūtasya pariṣkriyām anupamām āsecanaṃ cakṣuṣoḥ ānandasya paramparām anuguṇām ārāmaśaileśituḥ | taddormadhya kirīṭakoṭighaṭita svocchiṣṭa kastūrikā mālyāmodasamedhitātmavibhavāṃ godām udārāṃ stumaḥ || 4 ||
She is the incomparable adornment of His intent, the anointing of His eyes, the succession of His bliss, fitting for the Lord of Arashaila. Her own glory is increased by the fragrance of the leftover kasturi-garland placed at the tip of the crown that sits between His arms. We praise the generous Goda.

స్వోచ్ఛిష్టమాలికాబంధ గంధబంధురజిష్ణవే | విష్ణుచిత్తతనూజాయై గోదాయై నిత్యమంగళం || 5 ||
स्वोच्छिष्टमालिकाबन्ध गन्धबन्धुरजिष्णवे । विष्णुचित्ततनूजायै गोदायै नित्यमङ्गलम् ॥ ५ ॥
svocchiṣṭamālikābandha gandhabandhurajiṣṇave | viṣṇucittatanūjāyai godāyai nityamaṅgalam || 5 ||
Eternal auspiciousness to Goda, daughter of Vishnucitta — she who made the Lord fragrant, bound by the garland of His leftover flowers.
5 · Nitya-maṅgala
మాదృశాకించనత్రాణ బద్ధకంకణ పాణయే | విష్ణుచిత్తతనూజాయై గోదాయై నిత్యమంగళం || 6 ||
मादृशाकिञ्चनत्राण बद्धकङ्कण पाणये । विष्णुचित्ततनूजायै गोदायै नित्यमङ्गलम् ॥ ६ ॥
mādṛśākiñcanatrāṇa baddhakaṅkaṇa pāṇaye | viṣṇucittatanūjāyai godāyai nityamaṅgalam || 6 ||
Eternal auspiciousness to Goda, daughter of Vishnucitta — she whose hand is bound with the bracelet of protecting the destitute such as us.
6 · Nitya-maṅgala
శ్రీమత్యై విష్ణుచిత్తార్య మనోనందనహేతవే | నందనందన సుందర్యై గోదాయై నిత్యమంగళం || 7 ||
श्रीमत्यै विष्णुचित्तार्य मनोनन्दनहेतवे । नन्दनन्दन सुन्दर्यै गोदायै नित्यमङ्गलम् ॥ ७ ॥
śrīmatyai viṣṇucittārya manonandanahetave | nandanandana sundaryai godāyai nityamaṅgalam || 7 ||
Eternal auspiciousness to Goda — the blessed cause of joy in Vishnucitta's mind, the beauty of the son of Nanda.
7 · Nitya-maṅgala
కర్కటే పూర్వఫల్గున్యాం తులసీకాననోద్భవాం | పాణ్డ్యే విశ్వంభరాం గోదాం వందే శ్రీరంగనాయకీం || 8 ||
कर्कटे पूर्वफल्गुन्यां तुलसीकाननोद्भवाम् । पाण्ड्ये विश्वम्भरां गोदां वन्दे श्रीरङ्गनायकीम् ॥ ८ ॥
karkaṭe pūrvaphalgunyāṃ tulasīkānanodbhavām | pāṇḍye viśvambharāṃ godāṃ vande śrīraṅganāyakīm || 8 ||
I bow to Goda, queen of Srirangam, the Earth herself, born in the Pandya land in the month of Karkata under Purva Phalguni, arisen from the tulasi grove.
